ABOUT DR. BURCHETTE
ABOUT ME
Dr. Corey Burchette is a clinical neuropsychologist who specializes in adult and geriatric neuropsychological evaluations and testing. He moved to New Jersey in 2019 after practicing in Washington, D.C. and Virginia for 10 years. He founded the New Jersey Memory Center as a way to provide specialized and patient-focused neuropsychological testing to the North Jersey area.
He provides neurocognitive exams for adults 18 to 99+ years of age with various neurological, neurodegenerative, and neuropsychiatric disorders, such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), Dementia (e.g., Alzheimer’s type, Vascular, FTD, etc.), Traumatic Brain Injury/Head Injury, Seizure Disorder, Brain Tumor, Stroke, and many others.
Dr. Burchette is a contracted provider with Medicare, Cigna, BCBSNJ, and Aetna. Although he is a contracted provider for those plans you should still consult with your insurance provider to determine your coverage costs for your particular plan. Dr. Burchette obtained his Doctorate of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology, Washington, DC Campus. During this time he completed his APA Accredited Internship (emphasis in Psychological Assessment and Neuropsychology) at St. Elizabeths Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Afterwards, Dr. Burchette continued pursuing his interests of specializing in Neuropsychology by completing a 2-year Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology. He completed a Multi-Site Fellowship Experience in Northern VA (private practice setting, medical center, and outpatient centers) that included didactic training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC: 2-year Neuropsychology Fellowship Seminar).
Most recently, Dr. Burchette worked as an Associate at the Neuropsychology Associates of Fairfax since 2009 where he provided neurocognitive and neurobehavioral exams for patients 18-95+ years of age with various neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders.
In addition, for the past several years he has worked with the Georgetown Memory Disorders Program and Medstar Georgetown University Hospital as an Attending Neuropsychologist conducting neuropsychological evaluations for the MGUH Department of Neurology and Neuropsychology Associates of Fairfax. In addition, Dr. Burchette has consulted and assisted in research for Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, Lewy Body Dementia, Mild Cognitive Impairment, and Alzheimer's Disease.
Dr. Burchette has also previously worked as a clinical neuropsychologist for The Department of Telehealth Services at NRMC.
