Although Gov. Murphy recently lifted indoor mask mandates for some businesses, our office is a medical office and does not fall under the new exemption. As such, medical offices are still operating under the guidance that all patient's and employees continue to wear masks, regardless of vaccination status, in the office for any upcoming appointments. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Once guidelines change on indoor mask mandates for doctors and medical offices we will review those guidelines and make changes as necessary for our staff and for the health and safety of our patient's and their families.

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to evolve and as the medical community continues to learn more about the virus and how it is spread we want to be mindful of our role in providing a safe place for your neuropsychological evaluation. So we are monitoring the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations and adjusting our policies as necessary.
With that said, we are continuing to follow the guidance of the CDC and New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy's executive order requiring all patient's and employees to wear masks in the office for any upcoming appointments. Although this may not be ideal for conducting neuropsychological testing, it is what is needed at this time to limit any potential spread of COVID-19 by people who are asymptomatic or by people that may be symptomatic but are not aware that they are carrying the virus.
Therefore, if you have fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath and body aches please call your primary care physician to schedule an evaluation with them. We will gladly reschedule your appointment at NJ Memory Center and find a new time to perform the neuropsychological evaluation. So for the safety of our patients and staff, we ask if you are ill or may have been exposed to a person with either proven or suspected influenza or COVID-19 virus, please do not visit our clinic without calling first (201-577-8286).
For now, please remember to always:
Wash your hands for 20 seconds
Cover cough and sneezes with the inside of your arm (not your hand)
Stay away from sick people
Stay home if you’re sick or were exposed to someone with COVID-19
In the office, we have made sure that:
We are only seeing one patient in our clinic each day to limit any potential exposure between different patients.
Dr. Burchette wears a mask when caring for all patients.
All patients and family members (or caregivers) that are coming in for in-person testing will be required to wear a face mask. We will provide disposable face masks if you do not have your own for the appointment.
We also have alcohol-based hand sanitizer in the waiting area and testing rooms.
Dr. Burchette performs hand hygiene protocols before, during, and after all appointments and procedures (e.g., hand washing with antimicrobial soap and water or alcohol-based hand rub).
We also disinfect exam rooms between each patient session. So prior to your arrival and after you are finished testing we disinfect the exam room and waiting area.
Physical contact is not permitted (ex. shaking hands).
Tissues and trash bins are easily accessed. Trash is disposed of on a frequent basis.
